The heat that warms the house
A miner turns almost all the electricity it uses into heat. With hydro or immersion, that heat warms the water, the house or the pool instead of going outside.
How it works
The water or fluid that cools the miners comes out hot. It goes through a heat exchanger and hands the heat to another circuit, without mixing with the water in the house.
- An S19k Pro, at about 2.8 kW, gives as much heat as a 2.8 kW electric heater
- When you don't need the heat, in summer for example, the drycooler releases it outside
- The heating you already have stays in place as a backup
Where it pays off most
With 4 miners, about 11 kW, you heat close to 240 litres of water an hour from 15 to 55 °C.
More swimming months
The pool stays warm in spring and autumn, through a plate heat exchanger.
Pre-heat the tank
The water enters the tank already warm, and the water heater or heat pump hardly has to work.
Heat the house
Underfloor heating and low-temperature radiators work well with the water that comes from the miners.
Mining with solar panels
The surplus you would sell to the grid for a few cents can mine Bitcoin and heat the house at the same time. With a time-of-use tariff, the miners work more in off-peak hours and use less in expensive ones.
Simulate with solar energy- Solar electricity at about €0.04/kWh
- Power profiles by schedule
- Quiet immersion, indoors
- Heat put to use all year round
Immersion: no noise from the miners
The miners sit in a fluid that doesn't conduct electricity. No spinning fans and no dust. See the DCX systems.
We design the complete circuit
Heat exchanger, tank, connection to the underfloor heating or the pool, and the drycooler for the surplus. See our services.
Questions about the heat
Do I have to change the heating I have?
No. The heat enters the existing circuit through a heat exchanger. Your current heating stays as a backup.
What temperature does the water come out at?
Close to 55–60 °C in immersion and close to 45–50 °C in hydro. Enough for underfloor heating, a pool and pre-heating hot water.
What about summer, when I don't need the heat?
The drycooler releases the surplus outside, automatically.
Is it worth it just for the heat?
The heat is a bonus. The maths is done with electricity and Bitcoin; every kWh of heat you reuse is a kWh you don't pay for in other heating.
Do you work outside Portugal?
We install in Portugal. Wherever you are in Europe, we can size the installation and the heat reuse with you and monitor the miners remotely.
Want to reuse the heat?
Tell us what you want to heat and how many miners you have or plan to have. We do the maths with you.
